Who we are.
What does it mean to be a man?
As men we find ourselves in crisis; with more and more of us unable to resonate with what it means to be ‘masculine’ both in ourselves and the world.
A quick google search will tell you what the masculine looks like physically. Strong, robust, handsome and virile are a few of the commanding adjectives.
Turn on the news, and we see all the unhealthy ways that masculinity manifests in society. Aggression, dominance and power are the prevailing character traits of false idols and pantomime villains thrust upon us by popular culture.
But don’t be upset. Because a ‘real man’ never shows weakness, let alone vulnerability.
Amongst all of the voices surrounding masculinity - and believe us, there are many - we were unable to pull out any conversations surrounding a healthy expression of masculinity; and the role that a purposeful, integral man plays in modern society.
We created Both Sides to do just that; exploring the beneficial character traits of the modern man, discussing healthy applications for these traits in our ever evolving world, and discovering a new archetype for masculinity that goes beyond surface level stereotypes.
Both Sides is a physical, emotional and spiritual journey created for men of all ages and backgrounds to rediscover and redefine masculinity. Together we will talk, sweat, struggle, laugh, cry, and gently break down the barriers blocking access to our most authentic, capable and compassionate selves.
